Fountain of Youth
Is living a healthy vegan lifestyle the fountain of youth? There’s no pill, shortcut, or product that makes you look and feel your best long-term. It all takes time, intentions, and habits to look and feel your best in the long run. You can detox, do a cleanse, or fast to have results (and certain ones are all great to do), but they’re not continuous results. They’re only results for a period of time. So, what is the true magic? What is the secret to looking young, living, and feeling your absolute best consistently? There is no secret. The magic is in the lifestyle you live. Yes. That’s really it!
The Healthy Vegan Way
Living a healthy vegan lifestyle can truly be the fountain of youth. It really is for me. It can be for you, too, if it already isn’t. It didn’t happen overnight for me though or probably for anyone else. It’s taken years of learning, actions, habits, intentions, experience, and fine tuning. For you though, it can actually happen much sooner because I can tell you right here in this post how. No one taught me or showed me how, but I absolutely figured it out. All of it. It works beautifully for me, so I’m confident that it can for you as well. I call it “the healthy vegan way” since it is THE way to live to feel and look your best.
Through Vegan Beauty Power, the “healthy” is being put into vegan lifestyle so that you can live your best, feel your best, look your best, and be your best. When you feel your best, you look your best. There are different components to it. I’m going to go through them in order of importance for you to incorporate them into your life so they can become your healthy vegan lifestyle. There’s also habits, tips, steps, and advice I have for you that will benefit you in every way as a part of this amazing, beautiful, and life-changing lifestyle.
Habits and Intentions Are Everything
Start with intentions. Be very specific on how you intend to feel and how you want to feel. Don’t focus on how you want to look. That will come. When you focus on and know how you intend and want to feel, you can start developing habits to get you there. Consistency and self-discipline matter. You have to stay consistent with positive healthy habits to live the intentions you have for your life. There are things that are not fun, but obviously have to be done. Develop consistency and self-discipline along with habits that support your intentions you have for yourself. Habits you need to do every single day, mindful actions, and self-care are the best for you. Self-care can include anything that helps you stay healthy and happy. It may be taking a walk, using essential oils, listening to music, watching a movie or a show, reading, etc. Mindful actions are actions you take that you’ve given thought to and you know will move you forward. Live intentionally.
See It and Believe It
Visualization is powerful. If you can see it, you can believe it. I promise. It doesn’t matter if it seems unattainable, impossible, unrealistic, or far fetched. That doesn’t matter. What matters is that you really and truly see it. You know in your soul that there are things you want to do, things that you dream of, things that you were made to do, and things that you don’t stop thinking about. You also know that for you to do them, you need to be your best. So, live your best. I am so serious and really mean it when I say that living a healthy vegan lifestyle consistently can help you in every way you need it to.
Close your eyes and visualize with all of your heart. Truly. Visualize and see yourself living your absolute best, doing all of the things you want to do, and accomplishing things you dream of accomplishing. How do you feel, and what do you see? Meet your future self and become her. Do the healthy habits, make the mindful choices, think the positive and loving thoughts, and take the actions every single day by using self-discipline and consistency to get you there. Live your healthy vegan lifestyle.
Self-Love Matters
What you tell yourself has the potential to help you or hurt you, so why not make it mean well? You need to love yourself, believe in yourself, and take care of yourself. You have no reasons not to. Everyone in the world can help you, believe in you, and love you, but you have to love yourself first for positive change to happen in your life. The things you tell yourself are one thing, and the other thing are the things you do. You know you need to take care of yourself, so show yourself the love and be amazing to yourself. You only have this life you’re living in the body you’re living it in, so make it the best. The great thing is that you have all of the power you need to change anything that you want. Start with self-love and have it in your life every single day.
Confident and Empowered Goddess
With self-love comes confidence. With confidence comes empowerment. The two together make you unstoppable in a way because you really can do anything. When you’re confident and empowered, you feel better. When you feel better, you do better. It all has an effect, and it’s all connected. I look at myself as a goddess and a queen. I’m never going to hold that back or hide it. Everyone should feel this way. I look at pictures of myself in my 20’s, and it’s so evident to me how much I have transformed in the best way. I’m still learning, growing, and improving. The learning, growth, and improvement never end, and that’s awesome. Life is so much better and so much more fun when you have confidence and are empowered to do what you dream about. See the real and true you. Get to know her better and better. Love her so much. Treat her the best. Be the confident and empowered goddess with me.
Powerful Planning
You know that planning is a huge and integral part of living your best, so make it a part of your healthy vegan lifestyle. Do it in a way that works for you. Plan every day or take time one day a week to plan the whole week and months ahead. Plan daily, plan two weeks at a time, plan a month at a time, or plan more months at a time. Find what works best for you and what you like the best. Planning keeps you doing the things you need to do and helps to eliminate distractions. When you know what you’re doing, you’re more likely to do it. If you don’t plan, you won’t know what specifically you really need to do, and you’ll waste time doing things that don’t progess you or you may even go off track.
Be specific and intentional in your planning. Think about what you need to do to accomplish what you want. Put things you need to do on a calendar whether it’s a digital calendar or a paper calendar. Be specific and purposeful. Everything you do has a purpose. Put results you want to have on your calendar as things you do. As an example, if you’re writing a book, put “write chapter 1 of book”, “brainstorm and write character descriptions and plot details for book”, or “research plot settings and character occupations for book” on your calendar instead of putting “work on book” or “write book” on your calendar. Doing this will make you, push you, and motivate you to be super productive. It’s simple and makes so much sense. Be flexible with planning and go with the flow. You don’t even have to plan at all if you don’t want to or you can be super stringent in your planning. It’s all up to you. You get to decide what works best for you and what feels good and right to you. Plan things out with thoughtful intentions and purpose if you do plan.
Why?
Why do you want to feel your best and look your best? Living a healthy vegan lifestyle consistently will have you feeling and looking your best. Knowing why you want to take actions and steps to living better because you want to feel your best and look your best is the most important thing in all of this. Never forget why you’re doing this. What can you do if you feel and look your best? How will you feel? How will you look? You’ll be happier, more confident, and more motivated to do everything you intend to do. You’ll have self-discipline, you’ll stay consistent, and will want to continue staying consistent once you’re more productive, take action, and get results. Knowing why you want to do this will set it all into motion to move you forward and closer. Ask yourself why you want to feel and look your best, and never forget why. Once you know why, once you do what you need to do, and once you stay consistent in your actions that support your intentions, you’ll get there.
The Components of Living a Healthy Vegan Lifestyle
There are a few vital components that consist of a healthy vegan lifestyle. They are all important and necessary, but some of them are more important than others. Incorporating all of them into your life every single day is the only way you will truly and consistently feel and look your best long-term. Living a healthy vegan lifestyle is the magic you need and can do to live your best. It’s simple. It really is. I don’t even have to think much about it anymore at this point because I’ve been at it for years. It will be this way for you, too. The thing I love most about it is that I don’t even want to ever go back to my old ways. When you feel this way, you will be ecstatic, grateful, and intentional even more. It’s not about being perfect. When you do your best, then surpass that, you will always improve. That’s what this lifestyle is.
Sleep
Oh, yeah. Sleep is the most important thing. I’m going to say that again because it’s that important. Sleep is the most important thing. It doesn’t matter what you need to get done, make sure you get enough sleep every single time. Every single time. For you, that may be 8 hours or more, but please, please make it be at least 8 hours. Seriously. Do research. Find out why you need sleep. Find out what can happen if you don’t sleep enough. Over time, it will have such negative impacts on you, possibly including illness and injury. Not sleeping enough is one of the factors that ages you, which is clearly the opposite of looking young no matter your age.
There are things you can do to make sure you always sleep enough, so stay consistent with it. It’s cucial that you not only get enough sleep, but that you get quality sleep. If you need to wake up at a certain time, count back to determine what time you need to go to sleep so that you get at least 8 hours of quality sleep. For example, if you need to wake up at 7:00 am, go to sleep at 11:00 pm or earlier.
Set up your environment to support you getting the sleep you need. Make it dark, cool, comfortable, and cut out all distractions. Don’t sleep, eat, or use electronics right before you go to sleep so that you sleep better. Use an app or some type of machine if you want to for sound. There are different types of sounds that put you into a relaxed state and can help you sleep well. White noise may be airplanes, fans, etc. Pink noise consists of nature sounds (birds, crickets, frogs, water as in waves, streams, rivers, waterfalls, and rain, and wind, snowfall, etc. There’s also classical instrumental music that can help you sleep (piano, jazz, harp, voilin, flute, etc.). Use essential oils for scent like lavender and bergamot to relax you if you feel like it.
Proper and adequate sleep is essential for your body to regenerate cells, rest your mind and body, and refresh yourself. Getting enough quality sleep makes you feel amazing, ready, and more apt to do everything you need and want to do. It helps your focus, state of mind, and energy. Sleep really supports your true beauty and healthy skin, so always, always get your beauty sleep no matter what. Make it your top priority all of the time.
Eat
What you put into your body has the power to positively affect you or negatively affect you. How you nourish yourself on the inside by what you consume determines how you look on the outside. Antioxidants, minerals, vitamins, and nutrients are what we all need. Whole plant foods and good quality water are what we all need to eat and drink to live our best.
Proper food combining matters so much and is what I focus on. Eating the right foods together supports your digestion, and digestion is the center of everything. Vegetables are pretty neutral and go well with mostly everything, except for fruits. The only vegetables that go well with fruits (but not melons) are leafy greens. Fruit should be eaten on an empty stomach and by itself. Proteins really only go well with vegetables – not starches, other proteins, fruit, or fats. Fats go well with starches and vegetables, but not well with fruits and proteins. Starches go well with other starches, fats, and vegetables – not well with proteins and fruits. Wait at least 3-4 hours before eating a different kind of food that does not properly combine together so that your digestion can work smoothly.
You don’t have to meal prep so specifically for best results, but it’s best that you know what you’re going to eat each day. So, make meals one day once or twice a week to be ready for you to eat when you need to. Find healthy, simple, and properly food combined recipes and make them. The less ingredients in each meal, the better for your health, beauty, and digestion. Soak all grains and legumes in water overnight before cooking them the next day. Doing this will make them cook faster and better, digest better, and help your body assimilate the nutrients better.
Sugar is incredibly toxic and aging. Cutting out sugar for a period of time was what has completely cleared my skin, and eating whole plant foods makes my skin glow. I still eat sugar here and there though So, in addition to eating whole plant foods properly combined, be mindful of your sugar or cut itnout if you want to. I promise it’s absolutely worth it. The sweeteners I use now besides fruits are stevia, monkfruit, and coconut nectar. Coconut nectar hasn’t caused my skin to break out and is healthy, so I still use it sometimes. I also use coconut sugar and pure maple syrup, and I eat vegan treats sometimes that have sugars in them.
Don’t worry or stress about eating healthy on-the-go or at restaurants. There are options. Bring your own food or get fruit at a gas station. Better yet, get whole plant foods at a grocery store. At restaurants, look at the menu online before you go, check out apps telling you where options are, say you have allergies, and put together vegan sides to create a meal. It’s not hard, I promise. It’s always, always doable to eat healthy and vegan on-the-go and at restaurants. None of us are perfect, so it’s ok to eat processed vegan foods, too.
Eating this way is the best way you can nourish your body. Get in your fruits, vegetables (especially leafy greens), legumes, grains, herbs, spices, quality water, lemon water, plant milk, herbal tea, real and pure kombucha, real juice, real smoothies, and real fruit infused water. Vinegars (especially apple cider vinegar), mustards, coconut aminos, Himalayan sea salt, nutritional yeast, etc. are also great to add in. Your taste buds will evolve, change, and adapt, and you will crave the good foods that your body needs. Whole plant foods are so powerful. It’s so beautiful when this happens, and the best part is that you have endless options to choose from as there are thousands of edible whole plant foods. Yay!
Move
Move your body every single day. It can be intense exercise or moderate exercise. There are so many forms of exercise and various workouts ranging from resistance training, cardio, yoga, pilates, cycling, and sports. Working out is the component of living a healthy vegan lifestyle that I struggle with sometimes. I don’t like this part, but I understand how incredibly important it really is. Mobility, flexibilty, and movement are necessary and matter more as we age. If we don’t continue to move our bodies, we can begin to develop physical ailments, injuries, and physical limitations. Keep the blood circulating and get everything moving to live your absolute best.
It’s so phenomenal and beneficial that you have the power to change your body by moving it consistently every day. This could be for 10 minutes, 15 minutes, 20 minutes, 25 minutes, 30 minutes, 45 minutes, an hour, and hour and an half, or 2 hours. However much is up to you. Just stay consistent and go for it. Improving your fitness will increase your stamina, strength, and positively impact your health. The key is to find something you like, and keep at it. Find a few things you like to change it up and to feel plus look your best.
Body Love and Care
Care for your body greatly by using products on your body that are best for you individually. Soap, shampoo and conditioner, skincare, dental care, nail care, etc. All of it matters because you’re putting it on your body. Use products that are non-toxic, chemical-free, cruelty-free, and have whole plant ingredients. Of course some products are better than others, but what you need to look for is pure and simple. Just that. Pure and simple. It may take you a while to find products that work for you. It may take no time for you to find products that work for you. I found some of the products that I use and love quickly, and I found other products I use and love way later, It’s so exciting and freeing when you find products that truly work beautifully on you. Love your body, love your skin, treat it with respect, and give it what it needs. It takes care of you. Show yourself and others the magic of body love. Everyone can benefit.
Mindset Work
I talked about this in the beginning of this post, and it’s equally as important as sleep. Just as you feed your body well and nourish your body, you need to feed and nourish your mind with positivity, love, inentional energy, and supportive beliefs to improve your lifestyle and your life. Positive affirmations, meditations, and personal development all do amazing wonders for your mind and tremendously help your mindset get in the best space it needs to be. What you think puts into motion and action what you do. Make it count to benefit you because it does count. Your brain doesn’t like new changes, but you know that you have to push past your comfort zone and grow to do incredible things you think about doing. Ask yourself questions and answer all of the questions. Make quick, but thoughtful and intentional decisions that will move you forward and closer to an even better life. This is what it takes. Give your mind the best, so that you live your best.
Ending Thoughts
I felt this to be super important and so beneficial to share, so I truly hope that you find it helpful and apply it to your own life. I really believe you can. Keep learning, growing, and improving. That never ends. If you want to feel and look your best, living a consistent healthy vegan lifestyle is it. Lifestyle. It is not temporary, a fad, or a trend. This is long-term, and I’m here for you. I’m here for all of it. This is what works for me, and I’m so confident that it can for you. It will if you let it. It’s all here. It’s all within you. You’re powerful. You’ll love, live, and appreciate this beautiful lifestyle as I do. You’re such a goddess.
