Homemade and Local

When food is prepared homemade and it’s local, the ingredients are healthier, fresher, and are so much better this way. Look for farms, CSAs, farmers’ markets, catering services, homemade meal delivery, restaurants using locally grown ingredients that make homemade food, and stores with locally grown food to find local options in your area to eat.

Eating Local

Locally grown food is fresher, riper, and uses less packaging. This is better for the environment, which leads to cleaner air and less waste. Since no shipping is needed, less resources need to be used. Buying local helps support local businesses, and you know exactly where your food is coming from.

Vegan Options

There are obviously more homemade and local vegan food options in bigger cities, but there’s some in smaller cities as well. Cartersville is a small town in north Georgia (USA). Emmie Henry is the creator of Rooted In The Loop. It’s an all-vegan homemade meal service and delivery business that also meal preps and caters. She uses foods that are grown on her family’s acreage in the meals that she makes.

Rooted In The Loop offers two different meal options every week that can be picked up or delivered. Emmie’s goal with Rooted In The Loop is to promote healthy living through plant-based eating. I am so grateful that she offers these options in this small community, and I had her black bean burger this week.

I am always making homemade meals by following other people’s recipes, so it’s nice to eat without having to cook while knowing that it’s healthy and vegan. Just because something is vegan, doesn’t mean I will eat it. I avoid processed foods. This homemade healthy vegan option is delicious, and I didn’t need to be concerned with what ingredients were used or how it was made. That’s a relief for many people. I’ve been vegan for 10 years now, but there are vegans who are new to the lifestyle. It can be frustrating and discouraging for new vegans to find healthy homemade vegan food that they can trust.

Rooted In The Loop

I don’t particularly like making burgers. They can be a mess and a hassle to make. So, I was so glad when I saw that Rooted In The Loop had a vegan burger. Her black bean burger has a perfect texture, with the right amount of herbs and spices, and great toppings that were leafy greens, tomatoes, avocado, ketchup, and mustard. The additions with the burger were pickles and Rooted In The Loop chips made from potatoes. I had the homemade strawberry lemonade, which was awesome, too. I loved this meal, and I want more!

I’m excited and looking forward to more meals from Rooted In The Loop. Emmie is so nice and lovely. I’m really glad I was able to meet her, and I know she’s doing a lot of good in the community. She’s showing people that eating vegan is not limiting and that it can be delicious and healthy. If you’re ever in Cartersville, GA, get food from Rooted In The Loop. Delish Vegan Gourmet Cookies

Rooted In The Loop partnered with Delish to offer these delicious homemade vegan cookies. Kennedy Brooke makes these awesome cookies. I had the toffee chocolate chip cookie, and it was soft and not overly sweet. I loved it! These can be shipped locally (Atlanta, GA and north GA) in batches or ordered individually through Rooted In The Loop along with their meals.
